Basketball and tattoos have long gone hand in hand as a form of storytelling and identity, especially for male athletes. but for women in the WNBA, tattoos are becoming a powerful symbol of self-expression and freedom. To celebrate that, we partnered with ESPN during WNBA All-Star Weekend to create The Paint an immersive, ESPN-branded airbrush tattoo parloUr.
In collaboration with Phoenix’s Golden Rule tattoo shop and female artists, we offered custom temporary tattoos inspired by WNBA stars like Brittney Griner. Fans showed their team pride in ink, engaged with a VR tattoo photo moment, and even got to meet Natasha Cloud—turning passion for the game into a bold, personal statement.
